Rechargeable batteries are great but what happens when you need another charge in the middle of nowhere? That's where the
solar charger comes in. Recharge your digital camera or smart phone with a solar battery charger and lose the power tether! The Voltaic Systems Fuse Solar Charger lets you add solar power to just about any pack / bag, bike, tent or anywhere else you might need power. The built-in 3/4" adjustable straps and clips make it the most versatile solar battery charger around.
Looking for a solar battery charger like this but just a little smaller? Check out the Amp
here.
What makes this better for the environment?Every little bit helps! Our small electrical loads can stack up to be big loads when combined. Removing those loads from the grid will make a difference over time. But that's not all... it's also about building awareness.
Solar battery chargers are
extremely convenient to those of us who spend many hours outside of an office, in the outdoors or often don't have access to a standard outlet for recharging. The more often we all use solar power products in our daily lives, the more others will adopt the same habits. The more people using solar, the more research will go into to innovating and producing even
better solar power products.
Solar Battery Charger Specifications - In direct sunlight, the Fuse Solar Charger can generate four (4) Watts of solar power. Designed to be rugged, the solar panels are waterproof, lightweight and sturdy enough to face repeated abuse.
Peak Output - Four (4) Watts @ 6 or 12 Volts. The solar charger's voltage is manually switchable depending upon the device being charged. For instance, most digital cameras would require 12 Volts of solar power in order to charge but other rechargeable batteries may require only 6 Volts to charge.
Universal USB Battery - The universal USB battery stores power for times when the sun isn't available. While Voltaic Systems' rechargeable batteries are specifically designed for use with a
solar battery charger, they can also be charged using a USB port (normal or high-power) when necessary.
Input - 4.8 - 12 Volts, 650 mA
Connectivity - 5.5 Volts, 600mA via USB port (Non-USB devices can be charged using one of the five included adapters.)
Charge times - Fully recharges in roughly seven (7) hours of direct sunlight using the solar panels. Recharges in five and a half (5.5) hours from a USB port or an optional DC or AC charger.
Bag Specifications - The lightweight Fuse Solar Charger is encased in 600D recycled PET (soft drink bottles) fabric making it
waterproof and
UV-resistant. The bag is just large enough to hold a smart phone or digital camera. The interior mesh pocket is useful for storing the included solar charger adapters and cables.
Weight - 1.3lbs (600 grams) including the universal USB battery and solar panels
Storage Volume - 53 cubic inches (0.8 liters) - The solar charger bag provides enough space for a small phone, camera and the universal USB battery.
Attachment Straps - Two 3/4" straps with four male/female clip sets are included. The Fuse Solar Charger will also clip into standard 3/4" buckles on backpacks. Any "loop" or standard attachment point on a bag or tent will do for the female clips. MOLLE compatible.
Compatibility - The below is an abbreviated list of devices compatible with the solar charger. If you do not see your device listed or have another question, please call us at 888.381.9222 or email.

Tablets - In all cases, the Spark will charge tablets better than the four (4) Watt chargers such as the Amp. This solar charger, due to the lower power output, will not charge tablets efficiently. The following tablets will charge slowly from the internal usb battery.
Apple: iPad, iPad 2 (read caveats on iPad charger post)
BlackBerry: Playbook
LG: T-Mobile G-Slate
Samsung: Galaxy Tab (will not work with ASUS eee Transformer, Motorola XOOM or Acer Iconia Tab)
Digital Cameras - The voltage output of the solar panels is manually adjustable from 6 Volts to 12 Volts. Recharging larger 7.4V digital camera batteries will require the solar charger's higher 12V setting. An optional camera battery cradle will also be required to charge these types of rechargeable batteries.
Voltaic Systems solar panels and bags carry a two (2) year warranty from the date of purchase. Batteries carry a one (1) year warranty due to the nature of battery life and a typical number of charge cycles (300 - 500). Verdantly will refund purchases returned within 30 days in new condition.
